Introducing Our Dynamic New Team Member: Victoria Kyles, LPC, Doctoral Intern

Hey there, beautiful souls! It's with immense joy that we introduce you to the newest addition to our team, Victoria Kyles—affectionately known as "The Realest Vic" or sometimes, "Mama Vic." Victoria joins us as a licensed professional counselor and a doctoral intern as she completes her Psy.D., bringing with her a wealth of compassion, honesty, and a genuine knack for creating safe spaces wherever she goes.

So, what sparked Victoria's journey into the world of mental health counseling? Well, for her, it's all about the transformative power of trust. She believes that something truly magical happens when one person chooses to confide in another, and it's this pivotal moment that fuels her passion for working with children and young adults.

In her counseling sessions, Victoria employs an eclectic approach, starting with a foundation of person-centered therapy infused with elements of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). She also incorporates play therapy techniques, especially for her younger clients, creating an environment where they feel seen, heard, and understood.

But Victoria's passion doesn't stop there. She's particularly drawn to working with neurodivergent clients, specializing in autism and bringing her expertise from her certification in autism work. Her previous experience includes supporting individuals dealing with sexual trauma, anxiety, attachment issues, and depression, as well as working with survivors of sex trafficking—a testament to her commitment to making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Here at Healing Spaces, Victoria is excited to dive into her role as a facilitator for our support group for Black Women with ADHD. She's eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a community that fosters bravery and safety—a place where everyone's voices are valued and heard.

Outside of her counseling practice, Victoria is a woman of many passions. You might catch her gliding gracefully on roller skates, indulging in a binge-watch session of a new show, or savoring the flavors of different cultures through her love for food. With a deep appreciation for music and all forms of art, she finds joy in exploring the vibrant tapestry of human expression.

So, what can clients expect when they step into a session with Victoria? Authenticity, connection, and a safe space to explore, heal, and grow. Guided by her core values of love, integrity, and commitment, Victoria aims to create a collaborative relationship that fosters empowerment and transformation.

And to those who may be hesitant about starting therapy, Victoria offers a gentle reminder: it's okay to have reservations. Therapy is about meeting you where you are, validating your experiences, and walking alongside you on your journey to healing.

One thing you might not know about Victoria? Despite being a therapist, she's no stranger to her own struggles. Clients often find comfort in knowing that she's human too, navigating life's ups and downs just like they are. Welcome Victoria! We are so glad that you are here!
