Dr. Kezia Jackson

Hi, I'm Kezia (she/her)

I founded Healing Spaces to be a safe space of healing, especially for Black and Brown individuals and members of other marginalized communities. Here you are safe, valued, and you matter.

I specialize in psychological evaluation and assessment, supervision, and consultation, and I am available for speaking engagements. I am passionate about helping Black women professionals prioritize their wellbeing and cope with childhood trauma. I also love working with the parents of children with disruptive behaviors. I look forward to hearing from you!

PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION AND ASSESSMENT

Healing-Space-Team-Photos-4.jpg

You are here because you find yourself Googling symptoms and asking yourself questions like:

"Am I clinically depressed?"

"Am I autistic?"

"Does my child have ADHD or a learning disorder?"

or simply, "What is going on with me?"

Through formal and comprehensive assessment and testing, I help individuals better understand their strengths and identify any areas of concern.

I evaluate individuals ages 4 and up.

For children and teenagers, these evaluations can help identify any diagnoses or areas of concern that are causing challenges at home and in school. Importantly, the report will come with numerous recommendations to accommodate and support the student's difficulties.

Adults often seek evaluation to understand or put words to challenges they have been coping with their whole life. The evaluation also comes with an extensive list of recommendations for what to do with any new diagnoses or learned information.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

If you are looking for a genuine and collaborative therapist, then I may be a good fit for you! I love to empower clients to take back control of their lives, set boundaries with friends and family members (yes, even parents!), and heal from the overwhelming stress in their current lives and trauma in their past. Together, let's dismantle your belief that you need to be strong all of the time and "have it together." You are deserving of rest.

My passion also includes helping parents and caregivers have better relationships with their children and manage difficult behaviors. My approach to this work is initially very relationship-centered and will focus on building up the foundation of the parent-child relationship and praising positive behaviors before focusing on rules and consequences.

I look forward to partnering with you on your journey to healing! Please note that I am NOT accepting new therapy clients until Fall 2023
